RoHS 2.0 officially replaces the old version of RoHS

See: 23 Time: 2014-11-11

According to the EU Directive RoHS 2.0 (2011/65/EU), EU member states need to convert RoHS 2.0 into domestic law by January 2, 2013, and replace the old RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC) formally by January 2, 2013. This will bring a series of challenges for the electronics and electrical industry, such as RoHS 2.0 greatly expanding the scope of command control, and incorporating the RoHS conformity of electronics and electrical products into CE identification requirements. Producers should ensure that products conform to RoHS and prepare corresponding declarations and technical documents when posting CE identification.

RoHS Directive 2.0 (2011/65/EU) proposed that priority should be given to four substances: hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD), 2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) within three years to consider whether they should be included in the list of restricted substances, which attracted wide attention in the industry.

This will bring a series of challenges to the electronic and electrical industry:

RoHS 2.0 greatly expands the scope of instruction control.

RoHS compliance of electronic and electrical products is also included in CE identification requirements.

Producers should ensure that products conform to RoHS by posting CE logos and prepare appropriate declarations and technical documents.

CES Crown Testing Laboratory will assist you in meeting the requirements of RoHS 2.0. We look forward to cooperating with you.

EU promulgates RoHS 2.0 coordination standard EN 50581:2012

On November 23, 2012, the European Commission issued the coordination standard EN 50581:2012 of RoHS 2.0 in the Official Gazette (OJ). EN 50581:2012 was formulated by the European Commission for Electrical Standardization (CENELEC) to help manufacturers meet RoHS 2.0 requirements for product technical documentation. This standard clearly specifies the content of technical documents and the measures that manufacturers should take, and will play an important role in the industry's compliance with RoHS 2.0 directive.
