EK-MARK Certification profile

EK-MARK certification is a type of certification system supervised by the Korean government, which has been replaced by a new security certification system. The new certification work is undertaken by several private enterprises, namely KTL, KETI, ESAK. The newly revised electrical safety regulation ACT 6019 was promulgated on September 7, 1999. The newly revised electrical safety regulations have improved the safety control of production and electrical appliances use, and also made the safety work. The new electrical safety regulations were formally implemented on July 1, 2000.

South Korea's product regulations are similar to those in Europe. The regulation of Korean safety signs is based on Korean safety regulations. This regulation was amended on 1 July 2000. There are four main amendments:

1. Korea's safety regulations regulate electronic products into two categories: mandatory products with EK-label and non-mandatory products with K-label.

2. The first factory inspection and annual factory inspection, including those outside Korea, are mandatory.

3. The electronic security standards of Korea are in harmony with IEC standards.

4. Only the manufacturer can be a licensee.

Technical Information: The voltage of Korea is AC110V, 220V/60Hz. Korean plugs are grounded lassI and ungrounded lassII.

Licensing: The holder must be a manufacturer. EK-Mark mark should be marked on the product volume label. The EK-Mark logo should also indicate the issuing unit (e.g. KTL) and the serial number of the certificate (e.g. SD10031-0013).
